Radio Show Return
August 20th 2008
Let it never be said that Canadians are not mind-readers. Who knows if anyone claims otherwise to begin with. But they should not.
For the past two weeks I have been contemplating the revival of my old Internet radio show. With each passing day I have glazed over my copious collection of Japanese music and thought, “now is the time.” So I was ecstatic when my good friend Jean-François proposed to me the idea of bringing back the radio show together, before I had even mentioned the concept myself. His psychic powers, developed from years of maple syrup consumption and hockey expeditions, are much to be feared and awed.
The program format will be rebranded and restructured. I expect a little more banter this time around, considering it's going to be two of us behind the mic. Playing new Japanese music will remain the focus though. One of my original goals with the show was to expose fans of Japanese music to new artists. Most people I've met in life who enjoy Japanese music never sample wares outside the realms of anime and video game soundtracks. Never do they see the far-stretching fields of Japan's tremendous number of bands. (Surprising to many people, Japan has more bands than any country except America.)
Jean and I wish to introduction more listener interaction. The devices by which will conduct these plans are currently unknown. But I do know that a synthesized pubescent robotic girl is involved. No—seriously. You should expect no less.
Despite my grand fascination in creating this broadcast, I don't honestly follow the Internet radio scene. As far as Japanese music is concerned our only competition will be Japan-A-Radio. And even then we're not directly going against them. I applaud what they do over at Japan-A-Radio, but our demographics are different. They target the group of people I mentioned above: those primarily interested in anime and game music. Jean and I, on the other hand, go for a much broader spectrum of Japanese music. The goal here is to open eyes and have fun doing it.
I currently can give no estimate on when we will have it all put together. All I can tell you is that it will be as soon as possible. Details are on the way.

It's true, maple syrup does in fact give you psychic powers.
